Smart Cities Expo World Congress 2017: committed to give a powerful global voice to worldwide cities
The event has been the chosen place to present the new Zigurat innovative program for Smart Cities
Now more than ever, what happens in the cities is shaping our world. The Smart Cities Expo, to be held in Barcelona from November 14 to 16, will be the place to present the most cutting-edge technologies implemented in cities around the world, in order to make them more 'smart', and with it, more efficient, sustainable and with happier citizens.
The continuing urbanization and growth of the world's population will bring 2.5 billion people to the cities and 8.5 billion, by the end of 2030. Therefore the cities must be ready to jump into this upcoming urbanization, especially in both Africa and Asia, with most of fastest growing areas like India or China. As more independent the world is the more we need to think in cities that can face the new challenges the future is creating: climate change, sustainability, traffic congestion, more efficient houses and buildings and the integration of technology, are a few examples. Initiatives like Mark Zuckerberg's new Facebook village it is a clear reflection of the birth of a new paradigm in society: cities built around a professional and labor need.
We can't forget the importance of the cities because they represent the closest level of government in relation to its people. According to the EIC (Environmental Industries Commission) there are a lot of tasks to be done and few countries really willing to make the leap. It is their duty to solve the needs of their citizens, but for that, it is mandatory to invest for their development and leading to an empowered cities.
The Smart City Expo World Congress aims to become the place to collectivize urban power, increase the strength of cities and discover new ways of business. A place to share research, best practices and potential common solutions achieved through effective collaboration. It is mandatory to provide the cities with a common place where they can connect and gain a powerful global voice towards an innovative platform for action.
In this context, Zigurat presents its latest training program, Global UrbanTIC® and Smart Cities Certification Program, aimed at professionals who need to address the complex requirements of Smart Management, understand the logic of Big and Open Data and understand the electronic administration of cities
This Master, which will start next September 2018, is accredited by the École des Ingénieurs de la Ville de Paris (EIVP) and recognized by the French government. In fact, the Global Urban® Smart and Smart Cities Certification Program is the online and English version of the existing 'Mastère spécialisé® UrbanTIC®', conceived and taught in person at the École des Ingénieurs de la Ville in Paris, now in its 9th edition.
