DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional technology tools, methods, and practices related to the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry to support team projects on different disciplines
  • Support documentation of processes, procedures, workflows in a concise, graphical and illustrative manner
  • Provide technical expertise and help to aid projects in the realm of AEC technology including being a subject matter expertise staffed onto a specific project for a specific discipline
  • Contribute and support the maintenance of the 3D content and modeling of a project's assets
  • Participate in auditing, identifying, and resolving opportunities around process and technology improvements for a project
  • Support communications between projects related studios including the Technology Studio and ED&E
  • Support company standards and processes for BIM and VDC technology
  • Provide feedback on experience learned across Walt Disney Imagineering for other projects and /or within a studio
  • Convey a project's AEC technology needs to various stakeholders inside the Technology Studio
  • Offer tailor-made technology solutions to a project's unique needs while identifying common needs that fit within pre-defined well-established technology implementations
  • Mentor less experienced BIM and VDC Managers
  • Manage and work with related contractors and external technology vendors to fulfill job responsibilities
  • Lead a highly complex or large project's adoption of new processes, technology tools, and organizational shifts relates to AEC technology
  • Work along-side other pipeline and workflow related product manager roles within the Tech Studio and Walt Disney Imagineering to define new processes and standards
  • Embrace high technical and process complexity and understand the application of technology to Walt Disney Imagineering processes in small to medium sized attraction projects and international collaboration context
  • Possess understanding of technology and AEC field
  • Mastery of 2 or more BIM-VDC specialty tools (for example Revit or Civil 3D) as well as solid proficiency in overall Walt Disney Imagineering creative, delivery, and turn-over processes
  • Influence the evolving technology trends in the external market place to some extent
  • Provide technical mentorship to teammates
  • Be accountable for AEC projects’ successful accomplishment and make independent decision on means and method used while consulting peers and leaders within Technology Studio on review and oversight
  • Be supervised by project leaders as well as principle and managers level
  • Work with senior technology managers staffed on the project on a daily basis
  • Interact with other project stakeholders on a daily basis to provide support and drive project forward
  • Interact with Technology Studio and Technology Studio partners on a semi-monthly basis
  • Provide presentation and reflection to assigned project's leaders including Design Manager, D&P Manager, Show Producer, Project Manager, Production Designer and etc. on a semi-monthly basis to communicate status and feedback
  • Help a project navigate through process adoption which could involve complex social interactions with project team
  • Need to navigate more complex interactions within project structures pertaining to land and park management structures

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree and above required with preferred experience in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science or other related field
  • Master’s degree or equivalent work experience prefer
  • Active in relevant professional organizations preferred
  • Proficiency in one or more standard AEC technologies including Autodesk AEC tools, enterprise project management, or construction management tools
  • Specialized knowledge about how one or more of tools work collaboratively under-the-hood from API or software stack prospective
  • 5-8 years of AEC technology experience or equivalent. More than 2 years of Walt Disney Imagineering experience or equivalent preferred
  • Proficient communication, writing and presentation skills in both Chinese and English
  • Demonstrated ethical professionalism and passion and ability to learn and work in a highly organized and self-motivated manner
  • Able to be on domestic and international business trips to meet with business needs
